Quarantined Body Weight Exercise Week 2

Here is the compilation of our Quarantined Body Weight Exercise, Week 2. I know not everyone was previously a part of a gym and/or may not have the money for virtual memberships right now. That is why I am posting daily, quick workouts on Facebook on our Confetti Wellness group. These workouts are made for someone at home, without equipment, and who may be lacking in the motivation or determination to be creative on their own. The workouts are 100% modifiable. Some are strength focused, some are cardio focused, and some are mixed. This is week 2’s content. And here …

Appreciating Beauty and Excellence

According to the most recent strength finders test, one of my greatest strengths is appreciating beauty and excellence. And I really do agree with this; I recognize, emotionally experience, and appreciate the beauty around me and the skill of others. Maybe this is why I cry during sporting events? I am no top, elite athlete, but I put my whole heart and soul into running. I imagine that is similar to the feeling that these professional athletes have during their training and competitive seasons. Whatever it is, you will most definitely find me crying after an intense Seahawk game, the …

House Pilates

The House Pilates Guest Post

The other day, I woke up at 3:30 am and could not fall back asleep. Because, just like all of you, my mind was being pulled in 1,000 different directions. But of on my thoughts was actually one that made me excited. So I hopped out of bed and emailed a bunch of ladies in my life to see if they wanted to do a Guest Post on my blog. I am wanting to highlight females I know. To share what they do, what they can offer us, see what we can offer them, and how they are being impacted …

Telehealth

Telehealth Physical Therapy

Today was the first time I provided Telehealth Physical Therapy. In the last 6 months or so, I have been wishing that the company I work for would offer this. As I have mentioned previously, there is a lot of value in exercise, patient education on movement & body mechanics, and in postural or ergonomic corrections. There is so much that can be done remotely, through HIPPA compliant video chats. Honestly, today was a blast! Manual Therapy I can see why some patients are hesitant at first. A large aspect of Physical Therapy can be manual therapy and they don’t …

Quarantined Body Weight Exercise.

One of the things I am missing most during this quarantine is going to CrossFit. Not just for the workouts, but for the community. I am working on creating a community on our Facebook group, Confetti Wellness. Last week I started posting quick, body weight exercises that can easily be performed while quarantined at home. These quick, 5-20 minute workouts are made for someone at home, without equipment, and who may be lacking in the motivation or determination to be creative on their own. The workouts are 100% modifiable. Some are strength focused, some are cardio focused, and some are …

Equanimity

Equanimity, a word I have been searching for.

Equanimity. A word I have not heard of until this past week. I have been searching for a way to describe how I feel right now as our world is going through a horrible time. Someone asked me yesterday to describe how I felt in 3 words. My answer surprised me. Blessed, Crazy, & Energetic One would expect more negative words right now. But I truly feel this. Now, sometimes, a storm of negative swarms over me and my eyes start to fill with tears, don’t get me wrong. I 100% recognized and know there is so much suffering right …

Fear is Contagious. Courage and Positivity are too.

Fear is contagious. Courage and positivity are too. Right now I am thinking to myself, how can I virtually show up for others, to express my empathy for the world right now? The last few days has been tough on all of us. I could not imagine the heartache of all of the individuals with the virus and families going through the loss of loved ones. In addition to this and our fears, a lot of us are struggling financially and mentally. Wavering Thoughts As of now, I am fortunate enough to be able to continue to work and see …

Health & Wellness Apps to Use During the Coronavirus Pandemic

For the past year I have ranted and raved about the yoga app, Down Dog. It is inexpensive and is scalable to your own needs. I received an email from Down Dog, offering free use of their apps until April 1st due to the Coronavirus. This prompted me to do some research on health & wellness apps to use during the Coronavirus pandemic. Down Dog “Great Fitness Anywhere” is their tagline. And I really do agree. At times, I do not have the patience for an hour long yoga session. With this app you can customize the length of your …
